Michael ‘Meeko’ Williams and his brother have relocated from Atlanta, GA to the small town of Boykins, VA in an attempt to start fresh. After doing so much dirt in the streets of Atlanta the only option left for the twenty-six year old dope boy is to leave or end up in an early grave but everyone knows that relocating doesn’t change who you are.
Being a hustler at heart, it was nothing for Meeko to come to the country and quickly have everything on lock. Him, his brother, and their new team have money flowing in like water and with the money comes women, willing and ready to do anything for a chance at being the main chic of a well-paid dope boy. Problem is Meeko only has eyes for one woman... Cookie.
Cookie’s the complete opposite of all of the women that Meeko’s dealt with since arriving in Boykins, including his baby mama Shy. Quiet, hardworking, intelligent, and simply determined to have more than what her non-supportive family envisioned for her. She’s also been able to stay away from the BS of the small town. That is until her and Meeko’s paths cross… she’s exactly what Meeko feels he needs in his life but his fast paced, chaotic lifestyle isn’t what she wants or needs, which causes her to initially ignore all of his attempts to pursue her.
After trying her best to deny and fight the chemistry that she and Meeko obviously have, Cookie finally falls victim to his southern charm. The two couldn’t be a more perfect match but when the town starts talking and word gets out that Cookie is the new lady in Meeko’s life, she will have to endure his ratchet baby mama and what seems like never ending drama in order to hold the title of ‘wifey’ and it won’t be easy.
With everything and everyone against them, can love really conquer all?

I purchased the first version of this book. I will admit, as I told Ms. West, I dreaded purchasing the new version for a few new chapters. I even kept reading the posted reviews to see if anyone else purchased the first version and this one, so I could see if it was worth it. I've done this in the past for another author since I was a loyal fan only for it to be a waste. I also didnt want to read through the book again to find the new chapters. Well honey, ill make the post & say yes you should buy it. This was NOT a waste. I enjoyed the reread and the new purchase. I simply love Cookie and Meeko. LaTonya has a true gift. She brings her characters to life. This book has a dose of ghetto, ratchet and grit with sugar and spice on top. It's an easy, unpredictable read. You will literally have your mouth open from beginning to end. This book also shows the author's growth. Her books get better and better. I cannot wait for part 2. Wow Cookie is a trip I can't believe she said some s*** like that to Meeko.Shy is so damn dumb like get over his ass already.I wish Meeko would keep his baby momma in check.Wow Toi is a Nasty bitch for wat she did to her cousin and then she always starting s***.Im so glad they got they s*** together because Meeko and Cookie make a cute ass couple.Sheeda should be a damn shame because Princess didn't deserve that at all.Then for her mother to be that damn disrespectful is stupid.Wow Kelsey is a trifling
This book is so messy. Here you have people in this small town doing so many dirty stuff to each other is unreal. The only person that is self-sufficient is Cookie and she so happens to get the most flux. My suggestion to Cookie is to get out of town real quick. The story is a little to slow because with all the dirt going around this small town, I fine it hard to believe that scandalous stuff hasn't gotten out yet. To the author, you are milking the show, speed it up.
Cookie can't seem to catch a break and Meeko is the lastest reason. After following her heart and giving in to him the drama starts immediately from his babymama and his soon to be babaymama. Kelsey had better enjoy being pregnant because she just wrote a check her ass can't cash sneaking Cookie. Now Cookie has 2 crazy babamamas to contend with. Should she, will she stay with Meeko? Will love be enough and will love conquer all. I can't wait to see how Cookie will handle the new drama with babymama number 2. "Hey Ugly Bitch".... ewww ma, you nasty, him playing with your butt.......I'm still laughing. Great job as usual
I loved this book! I don't know why but I saw myself in the main character Cookie. I totally related to everything that girl was going through. Meeko, was a man that was just too hard for Cookie to resist. She knew that he came with a lot of drama, and he was in the streets slinging his drugs; and that's why she held off on starting a relationship with him.
There was a Chemistry that existed between them; which didn't allowing them to ignore their feelings for each other.
When they both got comfortable in their relationship, and started to show the true love they had for each other; damn the drama just couldn't give them a break...
I have never read anything by this author before so I did not know what I was going to get when I turned the first page but I loved this book!!! There is so much drama going on in this book. I do not want to give anything away but I hope Cookie starts whoopin some ass and gets some revenge and some damn heart.... She was soooooo petty for ending the book the way she did but you will automatically want to read part 2 after the way part 1 ended!!! I will definitely read some more books from this author because I enjoyed the book.
I honestly dont know where to start with this review. The book was really good & I dont want to give the storyline away. These characters are truly something else. SMH. Shy is a straight hood rat. I honestly couldnt believe some of the things she did & felt that it was ok! . Definitely waiting & hoping she gets exactly what she deserves. I also cant believe Kelsey & I hope Cookie gives her the business. Im #teamCookie#&Meeko so I hope they have a happy ending but of course it wouldnt be good without twists & turns. I would recommend this story because its not one of those far fetched, "that couldnt happen" type of story. Its very believable & makes you feel like the characters are people you encounter on a daily basis with the same scenarios. Waiting on part 2 to see what happens next.
I absolutely loved this story.. I don't want to give anything away but from beginning to end there's so much drama but among the tha drama a hood love story is taking place.. I can't wait for the next part (she was so wrong for that ending).. Hopefully once all the dust settles Cookie and Meeko can come out on top.. I know you don't mind killing off characters so let's get rid of Kelsey and possibly Shy..
